Easter Revision Courses – subject choices
Students undertaking the Easter Revision Courses can choose to take 1 or 2 subjects over the course of the week, 1 each morning and 1 each afternoon. With each subject comprising 15 hours of intense revision for the week, students will be revising their chosen subject(s) comprehensively. For those students who are taking 2 subjects, we invite them to board residentially for the week, to reduce the stress of travelling and to maintain structure to their day. The boarding house will provide students with home-cooked and nutritious meals and offers single, twin and triple rooms for those who wish to share bedrooms with study partners. Following an evening break, boarding students will participate in evening study time, where they are expected to indulge in independent revision in the library.
Our courses are aimed at all students at all levels, from all educational establishments. Over the years we have seen a wide variety of students, from those (in their own opinions) who are underachieving and wish to improve their grades, to those who are already achieving high grades, and wanting to cement their grades.
To maximise the benefit from your revision course, it is vital that the information you provide to us regarding the examination board, tier and modules (if applicable) you are studying is comprehensive and correct. If you are not sure of your examination board, we would urge you to contact your subject teacher at school before making your booking.
The examination boards that our courses follow are listed clearly below:
- where a subject is listed as examination board specific, that will mean that content for that examination board is specific, and other examination boards follow a different programme, along with different examining techniques
- where a subject is listed as and examination board is the ‘main focus’, this indicates what the tutor for that subject teaches in everyday education, but they are happy to accommodate students studying other examination boards
- where a subject is listed as ‘all examination boards covered’, this indicates that the core content for that subject is similar across all the major examination boards
It is also vitally important that you inform us of areas on which you’d like to concentrate. The information you provide will be used as a platform on which our tutors can design the right course for you – please help us to help you!
Our courses are offered to students both locally and nationally, and although we make every effort to match tuition with individual needs, students must realise that a revision course, however intensive, cannot be expected to cover all aspects of all specifications over the course of a week. Some courses are not board specific and aim to cover core material for that subject.
All courses will be taught subject to a minimum number of students attending. In the event where a course is not taught due to minimum numbers not being achieved, we will endeavour to give as much notice to parents as possible.
