Performance Netball Course
This fun and unique programme has been designed for different ages and abilities, from beginner through to representative level.
The coaches will work with their groups and individuals during the course aiming to improve game play and technical ability. All girls who attend the course will go home having received continuous feedback over the day from the coaches on their performances, with areas to improve and ideas on how to develop further.
The course will be led by Laura Rudland, Director of Netball at Clifton College. The school are and have regularly been County Champions at U14 & U16 and are competitive at the South West Regional Finals. The course aims not only to improve individual skills and match play but give each individual something to takeaway to continue to improve their netball skills.
The course will include:
- Precise shooting techniques
- A range of attacking & defensive skills
- Speed Agility Quickness
- Core and strength and conditioning
- Match situations- getting the most out of centre passes, backline passes etc
Course age groups
Coaching within age groups is delivered by experienced netball coaches, on approximately a 1:10 basis, ensuring quality training is received by each attendee. Based on the experiences of the Head Coach throughout the course, attendees may be moved between age groups depending on their improvement and abilities throughout the course, and numbers attending.
All groups will be nurtured in a positive and creative environment, ensuring all girls reach their maximum potential. Players will work on all aspects of their game and will be introduced to drills and skills used by top-class players, with tactical play developed to National League standard. The aim of the courses are to fully develop each player from day 1, helping them to achieve their maximum playing potential.
Coaching will take place at the Clifton College Sports Ground in Abbots Leigh, a regular venue for county tournaments. The girls will be training outside (weather depending) and inside within our fantastic Indoor Dome facility.
Coaching will take place in all-weather conditions, with the main pavilion being used for drying off and warming-up when the weather gets too extreme!

Kit requirements: Clothing for the course should include t-shirt & jumper, tracksuit and trainers. Warm wet-weather gear should also be brought along. There is no need for participants to bring any valuables for these courses, although a mobile phone may be brought and left with staff during the day.
Meal arrangements: a variety of hot lunch choices will be available, please inform us of any special dietary requirements in advance. Participants should bring water bottles to fill up during the day.
