Performance Cricket Course
Clifton College has a long tradition of producing excellent cricketers and also has one of the finest school grounds in the country. Former pupils include Sussex & England bowler James Kirtley and Gloucestershire & England ‘A’ batsman Matt Windows.
These courses have been specifically designed by the Clifton College cricket coaches, with the aim of quickly identifying the needs of each individual player, and then developing a programme to suit the needs of each individual. The coaches will work throughout the course to ensure that players leave with a better understanding of their skills and personal attributes, and what to work on when returning to their schools/clubs.
The Clifton College Cricket Course programme has been designed by Head Coach, Jim Williams, and he will be supported by a team of qualified and enthusiastic coaches.
We understand what is required at every level and age to have fun and deliver a stimulating, challenging and exciting Cricket coaching programme. Each day on the Boys Cricket Course is different and varied, but all boys will experience tactical and game-play based sessions throughout the 3 days, including middle practices, net scenarios, and small sided matches. Each group’s programme is age/ability related, and players may be moved to different groups to be challenged appropriately.
Coaching will be delivered outdoors at Clifton College whenever possible, on the fantastic 1st XI pitch on ‘the Close’, and in the newly refurbished cricket nets. When the weather prevents outdoor practice, coaching will take place inside the Clifton College Sports Hall.
